I’ve done this for years. After 7 days, all comments immediately go into moderation. For every 1 valid comment I have to manually push through, dozens (if not hundreds) of spam messages hit the floor. … and that’s on a blog system with (supposedly, anyways) spam protection. Yay!
I’ve got a similar setup with WP + Askimet, but I’ve recieved a surge of spams in the last month or so…
