Storebror - Big Brother

As the Swedish parliament passed the "FRA law", a.k.a. the big brother law, it is time to change broad band provide. The ISP Bahnhof will not follow the new law and promises to reroute its traffic to avoid it if needed.

They offer ADSL at reasonable prices (24 Mbit/s @ 239 SEK/month) - place your orders.

Another twist in this fascinating battle. Stepping back for a moment from the fact that these things actually effect us all, it is really interesting to watch this struggle. None of us know the future of the internet and internet service provision. Will it be more free more open, more controlled (and watched) by government, more controlled by private interest or anonymous and "net-neutral".

It's also time to start using Tor and GPG more aggresively.

And read the law book closely...I'm no lawyer but I suspect this law violates our constitution (regeringsrätten in particular) and if so, the constitution need to be changed for the law to be legal and that can not happen until after the next election.

I REALLY hope I'm right about that interpretation of the laws.

Place your order and time to encrypt as much traffic as possible for our Swedish friends. This sort of law is becoming a bit too fashionable, something similar (if not worse) is in the works in France AFAIK.
